Pub Of The Year Heaven and Ale

Following its success last year at branch and regional level the Heaven and Ale continues to be a firm favourite amongst the local community and CAMRA members. The pub has been recently announced as the winner of the Barnsley CAMRA pub of the year competition 2023.

Barnsley CAMRA recently held a presentation evening, and it was amazing to see the local community turn out in large numbers to support this fantastic pub.

This old chemist has had a wonderful conversion into a multi roomed pub, with an additional popular outside drinking area to the front. The pub is a fantastic asset to the local community hosting events throughout the week and supporting local charities such as Barnsley hospice.

The pub offers up to four real ales, two traditional ciders and craft ales sourced from small micro and regional breweries from the whole of the UK, but a couple are often local to the area.

On hearing the good news, the landlords Gary and Gaynor were over the moon with the news. At the presentation evening Gary wished to pay special thanks to the hard work of the staff and his loyal customers who have made the pub the fantastic community hub it is today. The pub will now once again go forward into the Yorkshire regional competition.
