We are absolutely thrilled to announce that this local gem has been named our Pub of the Season – Spring 2026!

Come down, grab a pint (or a flight!), and help us celebrate Bev and the team for all their hard work in making The Old Bakery such a brilliant part of our community. Since opening in 2017, Bev has turned her dream of a French-inspired village bar into a reality right here in Mapplewell. From a derelict bakery to a thriving community hub, she has created what she calls a "happy place"—a spot where you might walk in as a stranger but you’ll definitely leave as a friend. Why we love it: The Vibe: It’s Mapplewell’s very own "Cheers" bar! Whether it’s the welcoming atmosphere or the female-led team making everyone feel at home, the spirit here is unmatched. The Beer: With four pumps featuring a rotating selection of ales from small breweries, there’s always something new to try. Innovation: If you can’t pick just one, their new beer "flights" (three thirds of a pint) are a must-try! Community First: Bev’s focus on tackling loneliness and creating a safe, comfortable space for everyone—especially women—is exactly what a great local pub should be about.
