Shelley Open Gardens Trip

Following the success of the Spring Hike and the East Social another chance to explore the local area and enjoy the summer weather.

Shelley Open Gardens takes place on Sunday 6th July. Tickets can be purchased on the day from Shelley Village Hall at a cost of £5pp. Once we have purchased tickets, we will walk round the village, visit the open gardens and investigate the village pubs and clubs: The Rising, The Flying Ferret, Shelley Cricket Club and Shelley Sports & Social Club.

Once finished in Shelley, we will walk to The Woodman Inn, Thunder Bridge, about ¾ of a mile. If there is enough interest I will book a table for Sunday lunch.

After The Woodman we will walk to the Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor, about ½ a mile.

Timings: Meet at Shelley Village Hall at 11:00. This is approx. ¾ of a mile from Sheply Station. The 10:06 from Barnsley arrives at Shepley at 10:34.

Trains from Stocksmoor to Barnsley depart at 31 minutes past the hour and take ½ an hour to get to Barnsley. The last train departs at 19:31.
