The premises are currently closed and for sale - previous description below. A bar/restaurant in an unlikely setting - above a chippy. The single space occupies a former storeroom with the bar at one end and tables at the other. It has white-painted stone walls, a massive central beam and a (sadly non-operable) fireplace. Food obviously majors on fish and chips but there are plenty of other options e.g. seafood platter, shredded pork shoulder, homemade pies. The Senior Special (F&C, pudding, tea/coffee) is great value at £10.95. Also selection of basket meals and butties with toppings for just £5. Accompanying the real ales is a good selection of bottled beers from Nailmaker and Bradfield.
